Public Safety
Goal
- Community residents should feel secure and free from threat. Both
the strongest and the most vulnerable citizens should be equally
protected. A healthy community provides crime prevention measures,
police prosecutorial, judicial, and correctional systems that deter
crime and penalize criminal behavior.

American Red Cross
- Operation Brother's Keeper
– This program partners organizations with faith-based organizations
and volunteers to develop evacuation plans for the more than 57,000
households in New Orleans without access to transportation.
Jefferson Parish Community Justice Agency - Alcohol Monitoring Program
– This program assists Drug Court in the treatment of offenders with
dual dependency on substance abuse and alcohol and assists District
Courts with monitoring and treatment of third offenses.

Orleans Police and Justice Foundation
– Community Safety Initiative (CSI) –
This is a data
driven planning initiative that seeks to foster partnerships while
building an infrastructure, which consists of a Community Safe Haven
that provides comprehensive social service delivery in conjunction
with law enforcement. CSI strives to initiate and sustain long-term
revitalization of the Central City area.
Orleans Parish Criminal District Court – Day Reporting Center
Planning Process –This
grant supports the planning of a Day Reporting Center as a best
practice alternative to incarceration for certain offenders. |
