Chaplaincy Services
The spiritual dimension is an important element in the healing process.  Chaplains assist persons to get well by helping them utilize their spiritual resources in dealing with crisis.  They contribute to a holistic style of care that honors the needs of body, mind, and spirit.  Chaplaincy Services provides pastoral care and consultation to individuals, groups, and institutions.

McFarland chaplains are theologically educated, clinically trained and board certified by either The Association of Professional Chaplains or The National Association of Catholic Chaplains. The chaplain is trained in listening and supporting on the spiritual and the emotional levels. Their listening skills are framed in a theological background, stressing the ministry of presence and acceptance.

Currently the following institutions are served by the Chaplaincy Services Division:

Healthcare: Children's Hospital; Touro Infirmary; West Jefferson Medical Center

Long-term Care: Covenant Nursing Home, Crescent City Health Care, St. Anna's Residence, Woldenberg Village

Criminal Justice: New Orleans Police Department; Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office.
