About

Who We Are

Founded in 1995, Baptist Community Ministries (BCM) is one of the largest private foundations in Louisiana. BCM provides philanthropic services throughout five parishes in the Greater New Orleans area. We are committed to our faith-based Mission of improving the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the individuals we serve.

What We Do

BCM partners with local nonprofits and other organizations in an effort to build a healthier community in the Greater New Orleans area. BCM invests in the community by making Grants and by providing direct services through two operating divisions – Chaplaincy Services and Congregational Wellness. By doing so, BCM is able to extend its reach deeper into the community.

Grants

BCM identifies ideas and partner organizations that address critical community needs in the areas of Health, Education, and Public Safety. We support these ideas and partner organizations with financial grants and expert consultation.

Over $231 million has been invested in local nonprofits and other community partners over the last 27 years. LEARN MORE

Chaplaincy Services

BCM identifies partner organizations that will benefit from spiritual care services offered to their staff and the individuals they serve. We deploy professionally trained chaplains to provide spiritual care to those organizations.

Currently, 12 chaplains are serving in local healthcare centers and all eight districts of the New Orleans Police Department. LEARN MORE

Congregational Wellness

BCM identifies partner congregations that will benefit by offering wellness ministries to their faith communities. We train volunteer registered nurses and lay health advocates to establish and maintain these wellness ministries.

BCM has active wellness ministries in 150 churches, with 79 led by registered nurses and the remaining 71 led by lay health advocates. LEARN MORE
