Rev. Johnathon Sellers serves as a Police Chaplain with BCM, providing spiritual, emotional, and moral support to New Orleans Police Department officers. With expertise in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and grief support, he offers guidance during moments of loss and high stress, fostering resilience and compassion. With over 22 years of combined military, healthcare, and community leadership, Rev. Sellers has served as a Battalion and Brigade Chaplain, ethics committee member, and leader of readiness initiatives. He holds a Master of Divinity, Clinical Pastoral Education Units I–IV, and certifications in Palliative and Spiritual Care, reflecting his commitment to ethical and compassionate service.

• What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received? “Don’t let your title or your trauma define your identity – stay grounded in purpose.”
• What’s a hobby or passion you enjoy? I enjoy creating visual art inspired by Merry Melodies-style animation and mid-century storytelling. I also enjoy hosting community-style backyard gatherings with barbecue and fellowship.
• Who’s your hero or someone you admire? My late Aunt Altemese Simmons. Her strength, grace, and unwavering faith continue to influence both my ministry and daily walk.
• What’s the best part of your job? Being a steady hand in the storm – helping others process their experiences, whether challenging or overwhelming, while creating a space for healing and restoration.
• What’s your po’boy pick? Fried shrimp with hot sauce, pickles, and extra crunch from Triangle Deli. No fuss – just flavor!
