Congregational Wellness
Lisa Collins serves as the Congregational Health Promoter Program Coordinator, leading a network of 325 health promoters in over 100 churches. She empowers volunteers to establish church health ministries focused on disease prevention and connections to affordable healthcare and social services. Lisa develops program curricula, provides start-up stipends, and offers technical assistance. A graduate of Dillard University and the Loyola University Executive Management Development Program, she holds certifications in Peer Health Advocacy and Community Health Work. Recognized with multiple awards, Lisa co-authored the faith-based STAR Project and actively contributes to various boards and coalitions.
• What’s a hobby or passion you enjoy? Exploring nature through walks, birdwatching, and boat-watching along bayous, lakes, and rivers.
• Who’s your hero or someone you admire? My mom, a retired educator, hosted the most memorable parties with stunning décor and an eclectic mix of guests.
• What’s your go-to restaurant? Chapter IV – I’ve tried 80% of the menu, and everything is superbly prepared by the talented fourth generation of the Chase family.
• What’s your po’boy pick? Fried oyster po’boy from Liuzza’s By The Track – easily the best, with perfectly crispy oysters, golden brown in color, and always fresh Leidenheimer French Bread.
• What’s your favorite snoball flavor? Orchid Vanilla from Pandora’s Snowballs – it’s a must-try!
