As Grants Manager, Naa-Shorme Aidoo supports BCM’s nonprofit partners through every stage of the grant process, offering guidance on requirements and helping strengthen organizational impact through data and continuous improvement. Her experience spans teaching in Harlem and South Africa, education policy work in D.C. and New York City, securing major funding for youth development programs, and leading and coaching within the nonprofit sector. Naa-Shorme brings a deep commitment to organizational sustainability and systemic change. She holds a B.A. in Sociology and English from Georgetown University and an M.S. in Childhood Education from Fordham University.
• What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received? “Nothing is hard unless you make it hard.” – wise words from my Mama that continue to guide me
• What’s a hobby or passion you enjoy? I love to dance, sometimes even when there’s no music playing!
• What was your first job? I worked at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum in the Totally Tots early childhood section. It was just as fun and lively as it sounds.
• What’s your go-to restaurant? Neyow’s! I can’t resist the stuffed crab.
• What’s your favorite snoball flavor? Wedding Cake with condensed milk on top, of course!
