Steve Carter leads the planning and management of BCM’s technology infrastructure, ensuring seamless data operations and the adaptation of emerging technologies. He also oversees BCM’s building and facilities, maintaining strict maintenance and licensing schedules. With over 30 years in the IT industry, Steve has collaborated with numerous businesses in the New Orleans area, leveraging his expertise to foster growth and innovation. A former IT consulting business owner, Steve holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry, alongside certifications as an MCSE and Information Systems Engineer.

• What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received? Inch by inch, life’s a cinch; yard by yard, life’s real hard.
• What’s a hobby or passion you enjoy? I am really passionate about music. I play percussion with the New Orleans Concert Band and Post 377 American Legion Band, sing and play drums for St. Luke’s Methodist Church’s contemporary service, and perform in musical theater productions across the city.
• Who’s your hero or someone you admire? I admire my two sons, adopted through the foster care system, who face daily challenges with resilience and determination. Despite their mental and health obstacles, they approach each day with unwavering effort and positivity.
• What was your first job? My journey began at the fry and shake station at Burger King – quite a leap from where I am today!
• What’s the best part of your job? I value my role at BCM because it allows me to contribute to helping those in need, continuing my career-long dedication to supporting others in the community.
