The McFarland Institute

Following the example of Jesus Christ, The McFarland Institute, a division of BCM, addresses the spiritual dimension of healing by providing training to individuals in healthcare, community and religious institutions throughout the Greater New Orleans region.

The McFarland Institute promotes programs that expand the interface between spiritual, emotional, and physical healing through congregational nursing, and education.

With gratitude for our Baptist tradition of Christian service, The McFarland Institute emphasizes: respect for the dignity and diversity of all persons; integrity and competency demonstrated through behavior; honest empathetic relationships that create trust; and totality of health - spirit, mind and body.

The McFarland Institute Council
The Board of Trustees of Baptist Community Ministries (BCM) established The McFarland Institute Council, consisting of individuals who are not members of the board of BCM. The purpose of The McFarland Institute Council is to work in an advisory capacity to the Board of Trustees and shall serve as a liaison with the community, promote The McFarland Institute programs and activities and assist in fundraising and community relations programs adopted by the Council. The McFarland Institute Council will provide recommendations to the Board of Trustees on The McFarland Institute's charitable activities and programs.
